We cooked a variety of items the same day we cooked the country style ribs on our MAK 2 Star pellet Grill. We started off smoking a 6 lb turkey, then cooked some chicken thighs, and our last cook was country style ribs. The whole time we were using the MAK Grills Pellet Boss controller to control time, grill temperature, internal temperature of meat with alarms, and it handled everything we threw at it like a champ.
We changed the temperature several times between cooks with the push of a button which is a huge advantage to using a pellet grill. The MAK 2 Star pellet boss controller was like having a pit master handle fire management while we were in and out of the kitchen seasoning different cuts of meat. We were actually cooking this meat for a family member, so they would have food for the week.

Country Style Ribs Smoked on Upper Rack
This was a simple cook… especially since we were using our MAK 2 Star pellet grill. The country style ribs we purchased were pre-seasoned by our local grocery store HEB so all we had to do is put them on the pit. We placed the country style ribs on the upper rack and let them cook around 50 minutes. That’s it. Pretty simple cook.
Since we were cooking these ribs like we do most of our baby back ribs, we left the FlameZone covers on so the heat would not be as direct. This allows the heat to radiate and roll around the meat. The FlameZone system in the MAK 2 Star pellet grill gives you so much flexibility when changing over from smoking to grilling. It is a really great design that you won’t see on many other brands of pellet grill.
